The Bridal Boutique Story

The Bridal Boutique has been dressing Dallas-Ft. Worth area beautiful brides since 1990. I started my business 25 years ago in the old bank building upstairs on the corner of Main and Mill in Old Town Lewisville. We are now located in the beautiful Masonic Temple building just a few doors down at 143 W. Main, still in Old Town Lewisville. My wonderful husband Steve and I have completely renovated the building and it is beautiful… I am so proud of it. We have acquired the corner building next to us (finally!) and have expanded another three thousand square feet to put our boutique just over seven thousand square feet of gorgeous, unique, classic, romantic, and sexy wedding gowns!

After recognizing the demand for Mother of the Bride/Groom dresses and bridesmaid dresses in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, we have recently opened our second location “Beside the Bride.”  Beside the Bride is located at 125 N. Mill Street, directly behind our bridal salon.  Beside the Bride is a five thousand square feet “Mother of the Bride” and bridesmaid specialty-store filled with thousands of amazing gowns for every occasion.   I have always wanted to specialize in “Mother of” gowns because every day we have women come into the store saying they have been “all over Dallas looking for a gown” and wished they had come to us first!

I am so lucky to have both my daughters, Amy (Aggie class of ’08) and Carrie (Aggie class of ’06) manage our team and work full time to help run my business. We are like family here and if there is anything we can do to make your experience better please let us know!

Our inventory of Wedding Gowns, Bridesmaids, Mother of the occasion, and accessories is absolutely the best anywhere in Texas. Inventory control is not one of my strong points as you will see when you visit the store. People tell us every day how wonderful our selection is compared to other boutiques.  A lot of stores have multiple trunk shows every weekend, but at the Bridal Boutique every day is LIKE a trunk show. Do not purchase your gown until you visit our beautiful boutique and meet our #ninatheshopdog!  (She is the best!) You will thank us later! We look forward to seeing you soon.

Best,
Caroline

FAQs

When should I begin shopping for my wedding gown? . . .

It is ideal to start shopping somewhere between nine to twelve months before your wedding. This allows you plenty of time to choose the ideal dress and time for alterations and bridal portraits. However, if you have a short engagement or need a dress sooner than this we have plenty of options! We have gowns that can be purchased off the rack or rushed. Make sure to discuss your individual time frame needs with your personal bridal consultant; their goal is to get you your dream dress!

How far in advance do I need to order my gown? . . .

Delivery time varies greatly based on the designer and time of the year. Most of our designers take around four to six months to order. Any custom measurements and changes will require more time. Some of the designers will keep certain styles in stock; these can be checked online, ordered and arrive within weeks. Of course, there are always exceptions. We have done many rushes, have a large selection of dresses that can be purchased off the floor, and are able to accommodate almost any wedding date.

How do I know what size to order? . . .

Each person that orders a gown from us is measured by a professional bridal consultant. We then compare the bust, waist and hip measurements with the designers size chart. The size charts may vary slightly between designers. Very few of us will fall into the same size for all of our parts. For example; a woman might be a size 6 in her bust, a 12 in her waist and a 14 in her hips. This is where it gets a little tricky and where bridal expertise comes in. We must always consider the cut and style of the gown, and whether or not a particular designer is known to run small or true to size. Also, if you fit into the sample you may order a different size. Samples have been stretched out and the designer may have altered their size chart since that particular sample was cut. The final size choice is always up to the customer.

Am I allowed to take pictures when I try on gowns? . . .

Of Course! We welcome cameras during all of your appointments. We realize that it is hard to remember everything you have tried on and not every loved one can be with you at your appointment. It is also fun to document your dress buying experience. However, it is important to remember that your pictures are not an accurate representation of your actual dress as the sample will not fit perfectly. So, while we do allow pictures, we do not recommend using them to make your final decision.

When do the latest bridal styles arrive to your salon? . . .

We receive new styles and samples on a daily basis. We have the largest inventory in Texas and are constantly updating our selection. We travel the world searching for unique designers and have a more diverse collection of dresses than any store in the country. Since weddings happen year round we have styles for all occasions, seasons, and locations! Remember: Just because we don’t have a specific gown in our store, we can always order it for you!.

Is ordering a dress online safe? . . .

No, ordering any type of dress online for a wedding is not safe. We have so many brides that order online thinking they are getting a good deal by saving just 5%, but they end up having to purchase a second gown from us because what they received was not what was promised. There are numerous online companies that produce fake, copied products and sell them as designer gowns. Online companies can be there one day and gone the next. Who would you contact if you were sent the wrong dress, wrong size, and wrong color? Purchasing your gowns and dresses for the most important day of your life should not be left to chance. Brick and mortar boutiques offer you so many services that online companies cannot, we will be there with you every step of the way, and we will give you piece of mind for your big day.

Who should I bring with me to my appointment? . . .

We understand that this is an important time in your life and you want all of your loved ones to be there when you find that perfect dress. However, it is important to keep your group as small as possible. Too many differing opinions can make your decision harder and less enjoyable. Bring the closest friend or family member whose opinion you value most and with whom you want to share the experience of buying your gown. Bringing more than three others can take the focus off of you. On Saturdays and Sundays, we are unable to accomodate parties larger than six but would be more than happy to accomodate large parties during the week. Due to the delicate nature of our inventory and out of respect to other brides, no children are allowed past our lobby. We want your dress buying experience to be the most memorable.

Do you have on-site alterations? . . .

We are a full service bridal shop and are here for our brides every step of the way. We have a full service alterations department which consists of an alterations coordinator, Dani (your point of contact during the entire fitting process), and three full-time seamstresses who excel in their field. Alterations will not be done without the EXACT shoes and undergarments you will be wearing on your wedding day.

What sizes do you have to try on? . . .

Our sample gowns range in size from 6-32. Unlike many other salons, we have an extensive collection of gowns in many different sizes. We have something for every body type and size.

How can I pay for my gown? . . .

We accept American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, personal checks and cash. When the gown arrives at Bridal Boutique and passes our quality control check, we’ll contact you via email to let you know and to schedule a fitting.

Can I complete my look in one appointment? . . .

Absolutely! Not only do many brides find their dress on their first visit to our salon, but they also find all of their accessories (veils, headpieces, shoes, jewelry etc) as well.

When should I schedule my first fitting? . . .

Alterations typically take 6-8 weeks with our alterations department. We strongly recommend setting your first fitting at least 6 weeks from your first wear date (portraits, etc.) in order for us to fit your dress perfectly. We can usually accommodate a rush alteration which is considered less that 6 weeks.

What should I bring to my first fitting? . . .

In order for your gown to fit properly you should bring the EXACT shoes and undergarments you will be wearing on your wedding day. You will not be able to keep your appointment if you do not bring these items.

How many fittings will I need? . . .

Usually, brides require 2-3 fittings to ensure a perfect look. After the final fitting, you will need to schedule a time to pick your dress up from pressing.
